Advice for a marathon, but useful nonetheless for first time half marathoners! Only 2 weeks to go until the big race which means one last week of hard training and a slightly calmer week the one before...
We've notched up over 700 miles now over the course of the 2 and a half months, which is pretty impressive going (over 1,000 if you include my bike miles, hmm definitely think I will include them, over 1,000 sounds pretty good!)
Still waiting for Bethan's report on her Gibraltar fundraising, but she did pretty well indeed and raised in excess of £500 which is brilliant news.

TOTAL MILEAGE SO FAR
11 WEEKS IN: 800
Whoops I just saw you are awaiting my report!!
ReplyDeleteWell what can I report..... we arranged a fantastic pub crawl, that was truely a success. The extreme bad weather held up for the night, and actually it was quite warm - something we haven't been used to for quite a while!! We started off by rounding up the troops at Biancas, where free food was on offer. Each person joining the pub crawl paid £5 and recieved a Coldstream Guard Band. From here it went down hill!! The alcohol was flowing, free drinks in different bars and free entry into our nightclub!. My fantastic friends, even the shy ones (i guess the alcohol helped here) managed to sell all 100 bands that we had. We managed to sell over 40 raffle tickets (cats way of picking up men, i hear, was geting the numbers of goodlooking men by putting them on the raffle ticket!). We had our early learning centre golf carts in tow and many made a great effort to dress up for the occasion.
All in all we all had a really great night and although some of us were nursing sore heads in the morning - over £500 was raised for various Charities linked to our aim to support the soldiers (yes mum, have finally learnt how to spell it) injured in Afganistan!
!!!!GO GIBRALTAR!!!!
